Path to Divinity 10

This chapter is a lump. Read at your own risk. Also, I'm thinking of starting to post either 1 or 2 chapters per week.

Pushing open the door (which wasn’t latched), I walked out of the house for the first time since my birth. Feeling the gentle breeze of the wind, and I squint my eyes at the blinding rays of light coming down from the sun, as if purifying all of the impurities that I had. Putting a foot forward, I noticed the plants around me. The plants were surprisingly well managed, with a certain look to them that would make you want to stay there for a whole day, just admiring the flowers. But I didn’t come out of the house for the flowers in our garden, nor did I come out to get a breath of fresh air and a sight of the sun. I came out of the house to find adventure. Placing one foot in front of the other, I continued on my journey outside. Just walking into the open world was exhilarating for me, and I was feeling excitement with every action, every step, every breath. Adrenaline was coursing through my body as I put my right foot out in front of my left. This time, I spotted my destination. It was a forest. A relatively small forest. From inside the house, I didn’t feel much from this small forest, but now that I was in front of it, standing before it, it appeared as if this small forest was a giant as it loomed above me, seeming intent to swallow me whole. I was once again reminded that I was but a teensy toddler, and yet I steeled my will, and took another step forward, this time, in the direction of the forest. I looked back at the house I lived in, and I took in the sight of this medieval-esque building, I once again felt the reality of me being reincarnated. (as if magic wasn’t enough!) Preparing to turn back around, I felt a hot breath breathing down my back as I felt a shiver going down to the base of my spine…
